Welcome to Lale (“Lale”, “we”, “us”, “our”), the Turkish learning platform available at laleturkishlearning.com and through our related applications (together, the “Service”). These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are a binding agreement between you and Lale. By creating an account, accessing or using the Service, you confirm that you have read, understood and agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
You must be at least 13 years old (or the higher minimum age required in your country for consenting to online services) to use the Service. If you are under 18, you may use the Service only with the involvement and consent of a parent or legal guardian who agrees to these Terms on your behalf. By using the Service you represent that you meet these requirements and that any registration information you provide is accurate.
You agree not to:
The Service and everything in it — including lessons, curriculum, texts, translations, audio, illustrations, photographs, logos, the Lale name and tulip mark, software, design and the compilation of all of the above — are owned by Lale or our licensors and are protected by copyright, trademark and other intellectual-property laws of Türkiye and other countries. We grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to access and use the Service for your own language learning. No other rights are granted. All rights not expressly granted are reserved.
If you send us feedback, suggestions, reviews, testimonials or ideas about the Service, you grant us a perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free, transferable licence to use, reproduce, modify and incorporate them into the Service and our marketing without obligation or compensation to you, and you waive any moral rights to the extent permitted by law. Anything you submit must be yours to give and must not infringe anyone’s rights.
The Service may include points, XP, streaks, badges, levels, leaderboards and similar virtual features. These exist only to support your learning: they have no monetary value, are not your property, and cannot be sold, transferred, exchanged or redeemed for money or anything of value. We may modify, rebalance, reset or discontinue virtual features at any time (for example to fix bugs, prevent abuse, or evolve the curriculum) without liability or compensation.
Lale certificates recognise completion of Lale’s own curriculum at levels that are aligned with the CEFR framework. They are not issued, accredited or endorsed by the Council of Europe, any government, examination board, or educational institution, and we make no promise that any third party (employer, school, immigration authority or otherwise) will accept them. Certificate verification at our website confirms only that a certificate was issued by Lale with the stated details.
Certificates are issued only after passing the relevant level exam while holding an eligible plan. As digital content, certificate issuance is final and non-refundable (Section 3). If a payment used to obtain certificate access is refunded, reversed or charged back, we may revoke certificates issued under that payment — revoked certificates no longer verify.
The Service relies on third-party providers (for example Google sign-in, payment processors, app stores and hosting providers). Their services are governed by their own terms and privacy policies, and we are not responsible for them. If you sign in with Google, your use of Google’s service is subject to Google’s terms.
If you access Lale through an app downloaded from the Apple App Store or Google Play: these Terms are between you and Lale only — not with Apple or Google; the store is not responsible for the app or its content, maintenance or support; and to the extent permitted, Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you. Your use must also comply with the store’s own usage rules.
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free or secure, that content is complete or free of inaccuracies, or that you will achieve any particular learning outcome, exam result or level of proficiency. Language learning results depend on your own effort and circumstances. Features labelled beta, preview or coming soon are experimental, may change or be withdrawn at any time, and are provided with no commitments. Nothing in the Service is professional, legal or official-examination advice.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law: (a) Lale and its founders, employees and suppliers shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, punitive or exemplary damages, or for loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill or opportunity, arising out of or related to the Service or these Terms; and (b) our total aggregate liability for all claims in any 12-month period shall not exceed the greater of (i) the amounts you paid us for the Service in those 12 months and (ii) EUR 50. These limits apply regardless of the theory of liability and even if we were advised of the possibility of damage.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law (for example liability for wilful misconduct or gross negligence), or affects mandatory statutory rights you hold as a consumer in your country of residence.
We are constantly improving Lale and may add, change or remove features. We may also update these Terms; if a change is material we will give reasonable advance notice (for example by email or an in-app notice). The updated Terms apply from their effective date, and your continued use of the Service after that date constitutes acceptance. If you do not agree, stop using the Service and, if you have a paid plan, you may cancel before the change takes effect.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Türkiye, excluding its conflict-of-law rules. The courts and enforcement offices of Istanbul (Çağlayan) shall have jurisdiction, and consumers in Türkiye may also apply to Consumer Arbitration Boards and Consumer Courts within the statutory monetary limits. To the extent permitted by applicable law, disputes shall be resolved on an individual basis and not as part of a class, collective or representative action. If you are a consumer residing in another country, you additionally keep any protection granted by mandatory provisions of the law of your country of residence, and nothing in this section deprives you of that protection.
We respect intellectual-property rights and expect the same from our users. If you believe content in the Service infringes your copyright or other rights, email info@laleturkishlearning.com with: (a) identification of the work and of the allegedly infringing material (with its location in the Service); (b) your name and contact details; (c) a statement that you believe in good faith the use is not authorised; and (d) a statement, under penalty of perjury where applicable, that the information is accurate and that you are the rights holder or authorised to act for them. We will review complaints promptly and remove or disable access to infringing material where appropriate.
